Residents living in the Meadows area of Derry have been advised to be “more aware” of their home security as their homes are being “targeted” by criminals.
The warning comes in a “Community Awareness Notice” circulated by the Outer North Community Safety Team.
It it they say: “You may be aware that there has been a significant upsurge in criminal activities in the Meadows area in recent weeks.
“There have been several incidents of break-ins, burglaries and car thefts which seem to be concentrated in your area, particularly in the early hours of the morning.
“It appears that your area is being targeted and we urge you to be more aware of your home security.”
Those who have been have been affected or require advice or assistance are advised to contact the Outer North Community Safety Team via the PSNI, Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP), their local elected councillor or community activists.
