The PSNI has re-opened the Duke Street area of the Waterside to traffic but has said that the security alerts at the railway station and the Quarry Steps in the Spencer Road area remain ongoing.
The railway station was evacuated yesterday shortly after 3pm due to the discovery of a suspicious object, which also resulted in the temporary closure of the Coleraine to Derry line.
A security alert was also declared at the Quarry steps area of the Spencer Road after the discovery of a second suspicious object.
The PSNI has said that traffic diversions will remain in place to allow the searches to continue.
