People attending a church service in County Derry returned to find that their cars had been broken into.
The thefts happened in the grounds of of St Mary's Church in Altinure on Sunday.
Police are appealing for information about the theft of property from the cars.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Two cars were targeted while the drivers were attending a service at St Mary’s Church, Altinure Road, between 5.45pm and 6.30pm. Money and a handbag were stolen.
“Later, a handbag was recovered by police abandoned at Dru8mrane Road, Limavady.”
