City of Derry play their first All Ireland League Division 2B fixture of the season when they travel to north Dublin this afternoon to play MU Barnhall (kick off 12.30pm).
Today’s clash is an eagerly awaited encounter for both clubs as ambition are high following relegation suffered by both teams last season.
If last weekend’s impressive 40-18 win over Armagh is anything to go by, this could be the year that City of Derry roar back to life.
That cup win, in which a number of the club’s new recruits all starred, suitably kick-started the Judge’s Road outfit’s season, but their attention now turns to the league.
Opponents Barnhall, by contrast, have played two Leinster Senior League fixtures and suffered heavy defeats to Lansdowne and Old Belvedere.
