DERRY have announced John A Mullan as their new minor hurling manager in time for this weekend's league game with Donegal in Owenbeg.

Last weekend Derry failed to field in their first game of the league against Antrim.

Speaking on Thursday Derry chairman Brian Smith confirmed that the Kevin Lynch's clubman will be assisted by the experienced Ciaran Farren and Liam Hinphey senior.

The Kevin Lynch's trio take over the post vacated by Swatragh's Stephen O'Kane after last July's 2-12 to 1-9 Ulster Final defeat at the hands of a Christy McNaughton inspired Antrim.

O'Kane landed the league title during his two year tenure as manager and is now back in management with his club minor team.
