The five members of the Derry family who died in Sunday night’s tragedy in Buncrana will be brought home today.
Sean McGrotty, his two young sons Mark and Evan, Ruth Daniels and her teenage daughter Jodie-Lee, died when their car slipped into Lough Swilly from the a slipway at the seaside town’s pier.
The remains of all five will be taken to the St Eithne’s Park home which Mr McGrotty shared with his partner Louise James, the daughter of Ms Daniels.
Books of condolence were opened last night in the Church of the Holy Family in Ballymagroarty where a funeral service will take place for all five on Holy Thursday afternoon and at St Joseph’s Church in Galliagh, close to the Ederowen Park home of Ms Daniels.
All five will be laid to rest together in the City Cemetery following a 2.00pm service.
