Work carried out by Derry City and Strabane District Council to refurbish the bus shelter adjacent to the Benview Estate at Coshquin on the outskirts of the city has been welcomed by Sinn Fein councillor for the area, Eric McGinley.
Cllr. McGinley revealed in response to representations made to him by residents of Benview in relation to the dilapidated condition of the bus shelter he asked Council to consider what measures were required to address the situation.
He added: “Council has now refurbished the shelter by adding side panels and replacing the roof.”
Cllr McGinley concluded: “Whilst there are still ongoing issues in relation to bus provision for the estate it is important that whilst residents have to use the shelter on the Buncrana Road that they have adequate protection against the elements such as has now been provided.”
