INSTITUTE were left to rue missed chances again as they failed to break through against Bangor at the Riverside Stadium.
Kevin Deery’s team were denied by both the post and the crossbar in the first period with both Aaron Harkin and Jamie McIntyre denied in a one-sided first half. But the game changed in the second half with ‘Stute failing to rise to the occasion in the final third, Garbhan Friel conspicuous by his absence as ‘Stute lacked power and craft where it mattered.
Instead it was Bangor who came closest in that second period, and may even have won it with ‘Stute old boy Stephen Curry striking the post.
The result leaves 'Stute in an uncomfortable position near the foot of Championship One.
