Police in Derry are no longer treating an incident in the city centre in which a homeless sustained burn injuries as a crime.
It had been believed the man, who is in his 50s, had been deliberately set on fire in the Foyle Street area on Sunday night.
However, police say they have now viewed CCTV footage of an incident during which the man’s trousers caught fire and officers were satisfied the blaze was accidental, there was no third party involvement and no crime was committed against the man.
