Foyle Sinn Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin is to meet new vice chancellor of the Ulster University to discuss the expansion of Magee university in Derry..
Ms McLaughlin (pictured) said the expansion of the university at Magee was vital to the regeneration of the city and the wider North West..
She added: "There has been growing concern throughout the north west about the expansion.
"I requested a meeting with the new vice-chancellor of the Ulster University, professor Paddy Nixon, to discuss our concerns and reiterate the need for action.”
"I will now be meeting Professor Nixon later this month to discuss the current state of the business case for the expansion.”
Ms McLaughlin concluded: "We need to see a united voice coming from Derry and the wider north west to keep the pressure on for the expansion of Magee to go ahead as soon as possible."
