Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a young man from Glenullin who was killed in a road crash yesterday morning.
Dylan McNicholl died after he was struck by a van while walking along the Tirkeeran Road, Garvagh.
It is understood the 20 year-old was making his way to the village to get a bus to North West Regional College, Limavady where he was an Access Diploma student.
Today, North West Regional College paid tribute to Dylan.
In a statement released by the college, a spokesperson said: “The students and staff at North West Regional College are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Dylan, a student on our Access Diploma in Combined Studies course, Limavady Campus. We wish to extend our sincere sympathies and condolences to Dylan’s family and friends at this time.”
Tributes were also paid on social media to Dylan, a former pupil of St Paul’s College in Kilrea.
One heartbroken pal took to Facebook to write: “Rest in peace wee man, still can’t get over what’s happened.”
Another said: "I actually can't believe what I've just read, my heart is absolutely broken, you were such an amazing person, RIP angel, love you loads.”
Last night, Glenullin GAC and Foreglen GAC's relegation play-off which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, was postponed.
Dylan is survived by his parents Seamus and Ann and brothers Ryan, Carl and Jack.
