Firmus Energy has announced it is to install a new gas pipeline from Lisahally under the River Foyle into the Culmore area of Derry.
The move has been welcomed by Sinn Fein Cllr Tony Hassan who described it as “great news” for the greater Culmore area (pictured).
He added: "It will provide hundreds of homes with the option of switching to gas energy.”
Cllr Hassan concluded: “I look forward to this project moving forward as soon as possible.”
