A TALLY of 1-8 from Kevin Lynch's Gavin McCormick went a long way to seeing off Lavey in Tuesday night's league game.
McCormick is a regular on the scoresheet for Foreglen's footballers and his free taking skills with 'the small ball' were finely tuned as the Lynch's won 2-18 to 2-9.
It was a very competitive first half with Aidan Toner's fifth minute goal setting Lavey on their way but Conor McElhinney and McCormick took over and Kevin Lynch's led 0-8 to 1-4 at the interval.
The Dungiven side pushed ahead early in the second period before Toner struck for a second Lavey goal to level the scores (2-6 to 0-12) midway through the first half.
With the game poised for whoever wanted to grab the initiative it was the Lynch's who made the next move. After a strong move through the middle 'George' McCormick was on hand to hit the vital goal.
In the closing stages Kevin Hinphey scored a second goal. For the effort Lavey brought to the game the scoreline flattered the Lynch's a little.
With Mark Craig back on board, they are getting the key personnel back at the right time ahead of the championship.
Kevin Lynch's: Gavin McCormick 1-8 (6f), Conor McElhinney 0-3, Kevin Hinphey 1-0, Corey O'Reilly 0-2, Thomas Brady, Mark McCormick, Niall Ferris, Paul Sweeney and Ciaran Steele 0-1 each.
Lavey: Paddy Henry 0-6 (5f), Aidan Toner 2-0, Sam Dodds, Colm Murphy and Liam Murphy 0-1 each.
