A young local chef is certainly cooking up something of a reputation for excellence.
North West Regional College Hospitality and Catering student Correy Feeney is set to be the new rising star in the culinary world having picked up another prestigious award and being selected as one of the finalists to compete in the upcoming Skills Show at the NEC in Birmingham in October.
If she is successful there, she could be selected for the World Skills Finals in Abu Dhabi in 2017.
Correy has already picked up a stream of awards over the past year, having recently won the IFEX 2016 Junior Poultry & Best in Class award and winning gold and a Level 3 Advanced Craft Diploma for the high standard of her work at the Worldskills UK Culinary Arts Heat 2016 in Belfast.
Her successes do not stop there.
She has also obtained a distinction in her Professional Chef Diploma Course at NWRC and has secured a job with celebrity chef, Rick Stein at his Seafood Restaurant which she will begin in July.
