NIALL Loughlin was the star man as Greenlough convincingly defeated Kilrea (3-16 to 0-15) on Saturday night in Clady.

Joe Cassidy's side were in ruthless form early on, hitting an unanswered 1-4 brace, including Christopher Lagan's goal.  Cormac O'Neill added a second goal as the 'Lough led 2-10 to 0-6 at half time.

Kilrea were understrength but fought back early in the second half before Loughlin's goal four minutes from time rounded of a fine scoring tally of 1-9.

As Derry prepare for Saturday's qualifier game Loughlin will be a welcome attacking boost for manager Damian Barton.

On Friday night Slaughtneil racked up an impressive tally of points in their 0-20 to 1-8 win over Coleraine at Emmet Park.

In Division three Rory O'Reilly (1-5) was once again the tormentor-in-chief as Drum had a comfortable 1-11 to 0-4 win in a 'physical' encounter with Dolan's at Piggery Ridge.

The full league roundup will be in Tuesday's County Derry Post.
