Applications are being urged for the Derry and Strabane Policing and Community Safety Partnership’s small project and engagement for projects taking place between July this year and March 2017.

Encouraging groups in the district with an interest in community safety to apply, the chairperson of the Derry and Strabane PCSP, Councillor Eric McGinley (pictured), said the closing date for the receipt of applications is 12 noon on Tuesday, 7 June next.

He added: “Last year the PCSP provided over £100,000 of support for a range of local initiatives and projects aimed at reducing fear of crime, tackling anti-social behaviour and addressing issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, road safety and domestic and sexual violence.

“This year’s call has an increased budget and will support projects running during 2016/17. I would encourage groups that are working to enhance community safety and reduce crime to submit their application to the PCSP.

Cllr McGinley concluded: “It is important that all applications are submitted to the PCSP before the deadline as applications submitted after the date cannot be considered.”
