Derry City are on course for successive defeats by Finn Harps as they trail their North West rivals 1-0 at half-time in their Airtricity Premier Division clash at Brandywell.
Former Candy Stripe Ryan Curran – who scored in Harps 2-1 win over City on the opening game of the season in Ballybofey - put the Ballybofey side in front with a header in the 20th minute.
The usually reliable Rory Patterson had a chance to give City the lead four minutes earlier but he shot straight at keeper Gallagher.
He wasted a second chance in the 28th minute but his chip over Gallagher went wide.
Three minutes earlier, Patterson chested down the ball to Barry McNamee whose effort was saved by Gallagher.
