Two goals from Nathan Boyle earned Derry City a 2-0 win over Sligo Rovers in the second round of the EA Sports Cup at Brandywell tonight.
The 22-year-old opened the scoring in the 34th minute and double the advantage in first half injury time.
The win extends unbeaten run to eight in league and cup games.
The victory will have delighted manager Kenny Shiels as side prepare to host Bohemians and Sligo in their next two Airtricity Premier Division games.
