Derry City host Sligo Rovers at Brandywell tonight in a second round EA Sports Cup tie (kick-off 7.45 pm).

Following a disappointing opening day league defeat by newly promoted Finn Harps, City fought back to extend their unbeaten run to seven games with a 1-1 draw against Longford Town at the City Calling Stadium on Saturday night last.

Sligo are the league’s bottom club having won only one and drew of their eight games played.

Derry go into tonight’s clash without a number key players.

Aaron Barry (pictured) and Harry Monaghan have failed to recover from injuries picked up against Longford.

While Barry’s lay-off is expected to be short-term, Monaghan is facing a lengthy absence with a serious knee injury.
