A plaque is to be unveiled in Derry tonight on the 35th anniversary of the deaths of two teenagers killed by British soldiers in the city 35 years ago.

Gary English, 19 (pictured left) and Jim Brown, 18, were knocked down and killed by a British army land rover at Creggan Cross (next to St Eugene’s) Cathedral on Easter Sunday, 1981.

The unveiling, a family initiative in conjunction with the Bogside and Brandywell Monument Committee, will take place at 7.00pm.

People are asked to assemble at the main entrance to Jon Clifford Park (Bull Park, facing Marlborough Terrace) close to where the two teens were killed.
