A woman is in hospital after being rescued from the River Foyle in Derry tonight.
Police contacted Foyle Search and Rescue (FSR) after reports that a person had entered the water at around 9.45pm.
FSR volunteers, who were conducting a night navigation exercise on the river at the time, arrived at the scene within minutes, locating and pulling the woman from the water.
She was taken by boat to FSR headquarters at Prehen where FSR Emergency First Responders administered oxygen and first aid while awaiting the arrival of an ambulance that transferred her to Altnagelvin Hospital.
