Kick off 11.30am
Devlin Motors McAlinden Cup quarter final
BRANDYWELL HARPS v DON BOSCOS
(at Brandywell Showgrounds)
With a tasty semi final clash against Top of the Hill up for grabs, both teams can be expected to go at it hammer and tongs.
Having performed the better of the two in the league this season, Harps will go into this match as the favourites, but the form book may go out the window as the lure of silverware spurs both teams on.
Prediction: Anything goes in a cup tie but Brandywell might just edge it.
Premier Division Section One
CAMPBELL’S v TOP OF THE HILL CELTIC
(at Lisnagelvin No 2)
This local derby is always a thrilling encounter, but with just a handful of points separating these two sides in the table, we can expect to see some added spice.
Campbell’s played well against Trojans last week and will have felt unlucky to have come away with just a point, so they’ll fancy their chances.
But Celtic are not ready to give up on the title race just yet, and they know this is a game they must win.
Prediction: Top of the Hill by a nose
TROJANS v PARK
(at Brandywell)
Not many can see past Park for the title at this stage, especially after Trojans dropped vital points against Campbell’s last week, but until they are mathematically beyond reach you can rest assured Park will not be handed the crown on a plate.
Trojans showed their fighting spirit by bagging a much-needed equalizer against Trojans and that resolve will be there in spades again this weekend.
Park, though, are a side bursting with high quality technical players and if they retain the form they’ve shown throughout the season, they’ll be difficult to master.
Prediction: They won’t have it all their own way, but Park should get the upper hand.
Premier Division Section Two
OXFORD v LISAHALLY
(at Swilly Stadium, Templemore Sports Complex)
Both these sides have enjoyed mixed fortunes this season and are separated by just three points, so this is expected to be a closely-fought affair.
Oxford sit at the peak of the section two table and will want to retain that status, but the Lisahally players have done well enough to make the semis of the McAlinden Cup and will go into this game with plenty of confidence.
Prediction: Lisahally might just squeak this one.
PHOENIX v TRISTAR
(at St Columb’s No 2)
Neither of these sides have had a great season and they will both be playing for pride here.
Phoenix will see a clear opportunity to lift themselves off the foot of the table, and it’s expected they’ll come out fighting.
But nobody wants to be rock bottom come season’s end so no doubt Tristar will give as good as they get.
Prediction: This one might end up honours even.
