Derry suffered their third successive defeat when beaten by 22 points by Carlow in their National Hurling League Division 2A clash at Cullen Park this afternoon.
Leading 1-13 to 0-05 at half-time, a dominant home side went on to add 1-12 to their total in the second period while Derry could only manage a further four scores.
The game ended 2-25 to 0-09 with Derry finishing the game with 12 men on the field.
The defeat keeps Derry propping up the league table with no points on the board.
