City of Derry were beaten 7-9 by Dungannon their All Ireland League Division 2B clash at Judge’s Road this afternoon.
Playing against a strong breeze, the home side went behind to a 12th minute penalty.
The visitors doubled their advantage with another successful penalty seven minutes later.
Derry took the lead for the first time in the 26th minute when Neil Burns (pictured) converted a Simon Logue try.
Dungannon regained the lead with a third successive penalty three minute before the break.
Neither side were able to add to the scoreboard in the second period.
Before kick-off, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of former Derry City striker Mark Farren who died on Wednesday last after a lengthy battle against cancer.
Next up for Derry is an away trip to Armagh on this day fortnight.
