A man was rescued from the River Foyle in the early hours of this morning.
Foyle Search and Rescue (FSR) volunteers on shore patrol duty were made aware of a person in distress at 1.55am.
Foyle Mobile reported to the area and along with the PSNI observed a male at the railings who subsequently entered the river.
A FSR duty boat crew were immediately on scene and rescued the man, treating him for cold water shock.
The male was transferred to FSR’s base from where at 2:10am he was transferred by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital.
