Twenty days were lost to Derry City and Strabane District Council over a 12 week last year due to employees “over-stretching.”

The figures are contained in and “Accident and Incident” report being presented to the council’s Assurance, Audit and Risk Committee being held this afternoon.

The days lost were at the council’s Strabane recycling centre during the period October-December last year.

The report also shows that the total cost of lost days to the council in 2015 was 19,851.

That figure is significantly lower than the amount lost in 2013 – which was £31,281.39.
