A 23 year old man has been arrested following the discovery of suspected drugs during the search of a house in Derry this afternoon.
Just after 1.00pm, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a proactive search on a house in the Creggan area and seized approximately £3,700 worth of suspected cannabis.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of a class B controlled drug.
Sergeant Ray Wilson said the search and seizure was another example of the PSNI’s commitment to tackling illegal drugs in the city.
He added: “I would encourage anyone who has any information about the use or supply of illegal drugs to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
