An “amber alert” has been issued for Derry ahead of Storm Frank which is set blow in later today.
The storm, the sixth to hit Ireland this winter, is due to make landfall late this afternoon, leading to strong winds and heavy rain.
Cloud is set to increase during the afternoon with rain and light winds at first but strong southerly winds picking up during the day.
Tonight will see persistent and heavy rain accompanied by gale or severe gale force southerly winds.
